I'm loving this book by Peter James. His stories are set in Sussex which somehow makes them more interesting. He has written 25 novels and short stories, I have 4 of them so I will be rooting round boot sales and charity shops for the rest.

Pirate Day
It's Hastings annual Pirate Day today. We usually get dressed up and go along but this year they're not attempting to break the current record (which we hold) and it's very warm so we probably won't be going. It's a great day out with a great atmosphere and good publicity for Hastings.

Unbirthday
My birthday is 13th January. Year after year it gets ruined due to the winter weather so a few years ago we decided I would have an unbirthday on 13th July. It's really just an excuse to go out for the day however A has gone a little crazy this year and bought me a dozen roses and chocolates and even this pretty card! I am very lucky x

King John's Lodge
We went to this amazing place yesterday as part of St Michael's Hospice Open Gardens. http://www.kingjohnsnursery.co.uk/about-us.html
The house and gardens are beautiful and their shop is full of such pretty things for the garden. They have a tea room too with the most wonderful views across Sussex, we will be going back soon.

Lovely lady
This lovely vintage lady sits on my desk. She comes from Whitstable which we visited last summer and is such a lovely place although I was disappointed to note that the shops closed at 5pm even on a Saturday in summer.

Tango!!
For the last year we have been learning Argentine tango on Tuesday's. They say it takes 7 years to learn so we have a way to go! These are my first pair of shoes.
The Lady in the Fur Wrap
Son C and I watch Bargain Hunt together most days. Today we watched one from Edinburgh and Tim Wonnacott visited Pollock House where this painting was on show. It was painted around 1577 by El Greco and I think it is astounding!
St Michael's Hospice
The local hospice has got together with some owners of private gardens in East Sussex and for a small charge they open up for just one day. Apart from being able to see gardens and houses that you can only dream of, they serve lovely cakes and cream teas.

Love coffee machines? Save on the pods!
I did a bit of searching and came up with these nifty gadgets so now I can have my favourite Illy lattes at home at the fraction of the price! Thanks eBay! !
Coffee
I love my Delonghi Nespresso machine but find the pods so expensive! I work them out to be about 50p a cup, much cheaper than in a cafe of course but all the same I do baulk at paying such a high price so.....
Delicious!
So easy to make, buy a Jus - Rol puff pastry sheet and throw everything on top then bake for 20mins gas mark 7
Sons current reading
Just a glimpse of what C is reading right now (aloud to me whilst I'm trying to learn how to create my blog)
